Around South Barrington, specialist offices tend to cluster near hospitals and in medical office parks, and wait times for a consultation run from a few days for an endodontist to several weeks for a busy orthodontist. Most consultations across Illinois are free or low-cost and come with a written treatment plan and price; ask whether the fee is in-network for your plan, what sedation options exist and how many visits the treatment takes. A second opinion is normal for implants, jaw surgery and full-mouth reconstruction, and reputable specialists expect it.

I waited six months to write this review because I wanted to make sure the retreatment was truly successful before sharing my experience. Before seeing Dr. Commet, I had consulted 3 different dentists, and two of them told me that an implant was my only option. Thankfully, my regular dentist strongly recommended that I get a second opinion from Vertex Endodontics. After carefully examining my case, Dr. Commet explained that there was about a 70% chance of success with root canal retreatment. His explanation was thorough and honest, and the treatment itself was flawlessly done. From the very first day until today, everything has been absolutely perfect. Six months later, I can confidently say that Dr. Commet did an excellent job and gave me the opportunity to save my natural tooth instead of getting an implant. I’m extremely grateful for his expertise and care. I couldn’t be happier with the entire experience. Highly recommended!

Highly impressed by this entire office. From the moment you walk in the door, the staff is welcoming, friendly and addresses you by name. Vertex was able to provide an estimate price of care before I walked out the door and was very up front about everything. Dr. Wang was wonderful, very knowledgeable, kind and gentle. No one enjoys the dentist or getting work done but I honestly had the most pain free, easy experience. I would highly recommend them for any dental work!

Dr. Witkowski and his staff are wonderful professionals. Matt explained everything. He is very experienced in his field of expertise. I have never experienced anyone who cared about my comfort more during the procedure, because he continually asked me if I was doing OK. Judy from his office checked up on me daily. I could tell that they really cared about me and my comfort and healing. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

I went to Vertex for a retreatment of a root canal that had been done very poorly at another dental office. This was the second opinion I received, and I'm so glad I came here. From the moment I walked in, the office staff was warm, welcoming, and helped calm my nerves. Dr. Commet took the time to explain everything clearly, answered all of my questions, and never made me feel judged about the situation. During the procedure, he checked in with me frequently to make sure I was comfortable, which really put me at ease. His professionalism, compassion, and attention to detail made a stressful experience so much better. I highly recommend Vertex and Dr. Commet to anyone in need of endodontic care. I'm incredibly grateful for the excellent treatment and the kindness I received from the entire team!
